Training for UK long-term observers to election observation missions
Training for UK long-term observers to election observation missions
Topic outline
-
In October 2021 the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) has been appointed at the sole focal point for secondment of UK election observers to OSCE/ODIHR EOMs by the UK Government. As part of our appointment, we are committed to strengthening the services, performance and experience that we provide to Observers themselves as well as to ODIHR as the receiving organisation.
To support this, WFD has organised an in-person training for Long-Term Observers (LTOs) to increase participants' understanding of election observation in general and the work of LTOs in particular.
Training will be provided by highly experienced experts in the field of election observation.
Participants will also be informed on the WFD application and selection procedures for prospective OSCE/ODIHR election observation missions.
For participants selected for the course, you will have received a Logistics Note providing details of the agenda and location and other operational aspects.
Below you will also see suggested pre-course reading, which will be referred to during the training.
Queries related to the training will be answered via email only from: election.observation@wfd.org – unfortunately due to the number of requests we are unable to respond to applicants via telephone
